How To Post Photos On Facebook From Iphone
I've figured out how to write status updates on Facebook from the iPhone app, but can't figure out how to post a photo with a caption. Can you step me through the process, Dave?
Turns out there are a couple of different ways to post a photo on your Facebook account from your iPhone, and one of them doesn't even involve the Facebook app itself: If you have everything set up properly, you can share a photo directly from the "Photos" app to your Facebook account, no app required!
The easier and more flexible path is to use the Facebook for iPhone app, however, so let's go through that process!
First off, log in to your account and go to the main screen (your newsfeed). It'll look like this:
See the "Photo" link on the top of the app screen? Tap on it.
You'll move to yourCamera Roll, as you can see here:
Want to pick a photo from somewhere else on your phone? Tap on "Camera Roll" and you can switch to a different album. Handy, really, but most likely the photo you want to post is in the camera roll, isn't it? 🙂
Tap on the photo — or photos! — that you want to share, then tap on "Done" on the top right.
You'll move to the next step, where you can add a comment or caption:
But let's not. Instead, swipe right-to-left over the photo to move into the photo editing system.
Neat, eh? Let's look at the different present contrast / brightness / saturation settings along the bottom of the screen:
"Auto" works for me, but I also want to crop the image just a bit to make the central element bigger.
Easily done by tapping on the Crop tool along the bottom, then tap-dragging the corners ("handles") as desired:
Looks better. A tap on "DONE" and the new version is saved and ready to post.
Now tap on the area labelled "Say something about this photo…" and enter your witty, thoughtful or profound caption. Or something snarky. As you prefer!
Here's what I came up with for this little Android charger from Google:
There are other things you can fiddle with here, including tagging people in the photo, the location of the photo, adding emoticons, and even changing the visibility from Public to something else, but assuming it's all what you want, tap on "Post" on the top right.
And that's it. It might take a moment or three to upload the image but it'll end up in your newsfeed and, of course, that of everyone who you're friends with too:
And that's how it's done!
